Who we are and what this policy covers
Timberapex builds and renovates timber homes, saunas and bathhouses across Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you talk to us, send us a form, or hire us for a build, and what we do with it afterwards.
It applies to our website, our email, our workshop in Cairns and our work on site. If you deal with us as a homeowner, a supplier, a subcontractor or just someone asking about a price, this is the document that covers you.
What we collect
Most of the information we hold comes straight from you, either through a form on the site, an email, a phone call or a written quote.
- Your name, phone number, email address and site address
- Details of your block, title documents and any survey or soil report you send us
- Drawings, plans and specifications from your architect or designer
- Payment details we need to process a deposit or progress claim
- Notes from meetings and site visits so we remember what you asked for
We also collect a small amount of technical information when you browse the site, such as your IP address and the pages you open. That data is used in aggregate and does not identify you on its own.
Why we need it
We use your information to prepare quotes, lodge approvals, order materials, arrange trades and keep you updated while the build runs. We also use it to meet our insurance, warranty and tax obligations.
If you agree to hear from us, we will occasionally send updates about the business. You can ask us to stop at any time and it takes effect right away.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed, and only with people who are helping on your project.
- Structural engineers, certifiers and council offices
- Suppliers, carriers and subcontractors working on your site
- Our accountant, lawyer and insurer
- A bank or broker if you ask us to help with finance documents
We do not sell your information, and we do not trade it with anyone for marketing. If a supplier or partner is based overseas, we check that they handle data to a standard we are comfortable with before sending anything.
How long we keep it
Information tied to a completed build is kept for the life of the structural warranty plus seven years, because we need it for warranty claims and tax records. Enquiries that do not turn into a contract are usually cleared out after two years. You can ask us to delete your details sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep them.
Your rights and how to reach us
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete information we no longer need. We will respond within thirty days and there is no charge for a reasonable request.
